Description: Innovative multidisciplinary projects increasingly aim at utilizing ecological processes to society’s advantage in response to flood risks, crop pests, environmental pollution, etc. This session gathers scientists interested in the ecosystem-based approach to societal problems. We welcome presentations on research findings or proposals of ecosystem-based projects, in the marine, aquatic or terrestrial environment, on micro and macro scales. We encourage speakers to connect both applied and fundamental research to societal challenges and discuss future opportunities.
